European and Country Council Elections – 4 June 2009

Elections will be held on 4 June 2009 to elect 5 members of the European Parliament to represent the East Midlands Region for the next five years. On the same day there will be elections to elect Councillors to represent Rushcliffe residents on Nottinghamshire County Council over the next four years. When you vote you are affecting who will make decisions on your behalf about a vast range of everyday issues so please use your vote otherwise you will have no say over who will be making decisions about the issues that affect your life.

To be able to vote on 4 June you must be registered. You can contact the Rushcliffe customer service centre to confirm whether you are registered or to request an application form. Alternatively application forms can be downloaded on please visit the Rushcliffe Web Site by clicking here. Please act immediately so that you do not miss the deadline of 19 May 2009. Voting will be from 7am to 10pm and will be at your allocated polling station unless you have a postal vote. If you wish to apply for a postal vote, the deadline is 5pm on 19 May and applications are available online or by contacting the Rushcliffe customer service centre. Every voter will receive polling information at the end of April which will provide information on their voting method. If you do not receive this then you may not be registered and may not be able to vote. You should not wait until then to register. Please act straight away if you are unsure whether you are registered.
