Offences in Scarrington and Bingham

Please be aware that during the last few weeks there have been several

instances within Bingham and Scarrington where houses have been broken into specifically to steal car keys for the vehicles parked at the addresses.

Offences have occurred just after midnight. During the most recent offence in Bingham a hall window was broken in an occupied house, keys removed and a Grey coloured Nissan pick up truck stolen.

A previous offence occurred about the same time of night a week or so before in Scarrington when two vehicles a Range Rover and a BMW Sports car were stolen from an unoccupied house by means of car key burglary. Extreme force was used to break in and the thieves ignored the intruder alarm that activated.

You will recall from recent Ringmaster messages that Door to Door Salesmen were active in both areas, the offences may be connected, the Salesmen reconnoitering the locations before the thefts took place.

The police request that you do not leave your car keys on view, hide them away when not in use. This will make it more difficult for the thief.
